At the start of each day
Hands: Wash and dry completely.
Coat or uniform, gloves, glasses and visor: Put on.
Chair and armchair, headrest, tray, switches, handles, lamps, tables and counters, hand mirror, chain, pencils, etc. : Clean and disinfect.
Suction evacuation system: Disinfect by suction of a mixture of disinfectant solution and hot water, while sucking air at the same time.
Hands: Wash and dry completely.
Before treatment: Prepare the work area
Armchair, headrest, switches, handles etc. protective covers to be changed after each patient.
Equipment Take out only the equipment required and ensure compliance with aseptic standards.
Place one tray cover at a time.
Medical questionnaire for each patient.
Antiseptic mouthwash recognized for each patient.
Hands Wash and dry completely.
Prostheses or other devices Disinfect and rinse well.
TREAT ANY PATIENT AS BEING INFECTIOUS
Protective glasses to wear during the whole session.
Mask to wear during the whole procedure.
The mask should be changed for each patient, or when visibly soiled.
Gloves to wear during all the intervention, to change if contact outside the operating field.
Asepsis chain Avoid touching (nose, protective glasses, mask, hair, etc.) with gloved hands. Remove gloves if you leave the treatment room. Aerosols Use rapid suction when possible.
After each treatment
Gloves: remove and dispose of safely.
Hands: Wash and dry completely.
All purpose gloves: put on for cleaning and disinfection. Instruments or cassettes: Place in a holding solution or immediately prepare for sterilization.
Waste and single use material: Dispose of safely.
Suction evacuation system: Irrigate with a cleaning solution and hot water, while sucking air at the same time.
Inert surfaces not covered: Clean and disinfect.

Mask: Remove and discard.

At the end of the day
Dental unit water pipes Expel water.
Empty each bottle and disinfect them.
Suction evacuation system Irrigate with a cleaning solution or with hot water, while aspirating air at the same time. Clean the filter.
Disinfect and use an enzymatic solution respecting the frequency and the concentrations recommended by the manufacturer.
Work area Ensure daily cleaning. (sink, floor, etc.)
Ultrasonic bath Change the solution.
Uniform or lab coat to be removed. It must be washed.
Hands and arms Wash and dry completely
